I recently stumbled across the film ‘Sex Doll’ and I have to say, I am blown away! It looks like such a powerful and intense movie. I have not seen it yet, but what I do know is that it is a French-Belgian drama that is set in the contemporary world. It revolves around three characters; an escort, a client and a sex doll.
I think it is fascinating to explore the idea of ‘sex doll’ as a metaphor sex toys for human-like relationships, especially when it comes to relationships between partners and how they are perceived in the modern world. From what I have read, it looks as if the movie looks at how despite sex dolls objectifying women, they also open up a possibility of other relationships, which could be perceived as more meaningful. It definitely looks as if it is a thought-provoking and complex movie that will not make for easy viewing.
I am not sure what I will think of it after I see it, but I am looking forward to exploring the complex themes that the movie looks at, and I’m sure I will have many thoughts and feelings about the movie afterwards. The trailer seems to be a great starting point and I’m excited to see how the movie develops as it progresses.
The cast of ‘Sex Doll’ is another highlight of the movie. Starring Hafsia Herzi as Virginie, with Sebben Levy as the client and Ash Akabas as the sex doll, the trio look great together onscreen. There is a nice chemistry between them and it will be interesting to see how each of them plays out their individual roles.
Of course, one of the most important elements to make this film successful is the soundtrack. Bruno Coulais composed the score and he is known for his beautiful and lush arrangements, often times accompanied by haunting, playful vocals. I’m sure the music will help create a strong atmosphere in the film, and add depth and emotion to the various scenes.
Finally, when it comes to my own expectations, I’m curious as to what the audience reaction to this movie will be. Will they find it erotic and exciting, or will they be disturbed by its more intense themes? It looks like one of those movies that will be divisive, with viewers either hating it or loving it.
So far, I’m thoroughly looking forward to seeing ‘Sex Doll’ and I’m sure it will be an intense, stimulating movie which will stay with me for a while afterwards. I’m sure it will be the type of movie that will get people talking.
